Thursday Thirteen: 13 Stumbled Upon

I am totally amused with this Stumble Upon button (even more than I am with the entire range of CPDRC inmate videos brought about by the now infamous Thriller). I hope Stumble Upon never gets old or stale, or worse, over-run by commercial crap.

1. Tiny Grow
It took my TV-trashed brain a while to grasp the concept, but it's an oddly addictive exercise in ecology.

2. Orisinal
Sometimes, even WoW can get tiresome. Inhabited by cute little anime-ish creatures, Ferry Halim's games are campy, GP-rated fun. I'm currently hooked on Winterbells and Hydrophobia.

3. Landscapes With a Soul
Yeah, I know great landscape photos have become somewhat common, but this collection is always fresh and really quite beautiful.

4. Speed Test
For the net geek/speed freak obsessed with the size of his bandwidth.

5. Free Hugs Campaign
"Sometimes, a hug is all what we need." I agree! And Oprah does too.

6. Wikisky
Stargazing for the new millennium. Unless you have direct access to Hubble, this is pretty good too.

7. Sketch Swap
"Draw 1 to get 1." It's a creative way to lose a few minutes. But I suspect that one day, all our sketches are going to end up in a book and we won't have any claim to the royalties.

8. Images That Changed the World
A photo blog post (by Pinguy) that tells the story of the previous century.

9. Flowers
Make your own flowers to grow in a virtual freeform garden.

10. Lost America
Finding beauty in abandonment and waste.

11. Frogview
I hate forwards, but this curio site created specifically for compiling cool things to email has some really good stuff.

12. Don't Click It

It appears that the idea of the mouse click is outdated in comparison to most other areas of computing technology. This cool site shows you a new way of navigating purely through movement.

13. Tastespotting
No long-winded reviews or high-handed lessons in gastronomy, just picture upon picture of good food and drink.

Great post. You've selected some interesting pages on Stumble. I like Stumble a great deal--it can be entertaining, educational, both. I've gotten several blogposts out of Stumble in the last year.
